Central to any retailer’s operation is the visibility and control of stock. Modern retail demands a real time and accurate view of stock in all locations and in all states. Promising to fulfil stock based on out of date and inaccurate figures will inevitably lead to disappointed and frustrated customers.
Archean, our Stock Solution
So, as part of the work we have been doing with Reiss and Next, we have accelerated our roadmap to deliver Archean, our stock solution. Live this week in Reiss, Archean is the stock transaction management concept from Retail247. Designed from the ground up as a massively scalable and configurable cloud engine, Archean can enable legacy technology environments and deliver the stock visibility required for omni-channel retail.
Key Principles
- Archean is actually a suite of solutions. Archean Core delivers high volume transaction processing and maintains stock positions at site/sku/state level. All stock affecting actions are logged and easily searchable to trace the actions that led to the current stock position.
- Stock can be broken down to any number of Stock States (Available, Reserved, In-Transit etc).
- How each Stock Transaction affects the Stock States is also configurable; meaning that all transactions can be defined in Archean.
- Transactions can be consumed from any source, embracing a retailer’s existing technology landscape but with the option of deploying other Archean modules.
- Once processed, transactions can be passed to any legacy solutions as required.
- Archean Move is our solution for stock movement transaction creation. Designed to be deployed in stores, Archean Move can be the store’s single portal for stock activity. Transactions in Archean Move can have multiple steps and also trigger activity to other solutions, meaning that Archean can maintain the integrity of legacy solutions where required.
- Archean RFID is our solution for store based RFID counting. Handheld counting, ticket printing & encoding and guided discrepancy investigation are key features of Archean RFID.
