Project Overview

After seeing the benefit of working with Retail247 at Warehouse Oasis, Richard Surman was quick to engage with our services when he assumed his role as Head of IT at Crew Clothing. Within the first six months of his tenure, a technology strategy had been signed off by the business including the adoption of the Retail247 solution set.

The legacy technology landscape at Crew Clothing was inhibiting business growth and represented wasted cost rather than the generation of business benefit. The three year strategy detailed the deployment of modern technology components to enable the next exciting chapter in Crew Clothing’s growth.

The Problem

Like many retailers, Crew Clothing supported their product data distribution with a number of failing legacy systems and manual processes. Crew had an immediate need to expand their number of channels to market and this manual approach would have been ineffective and time consuming.

Moreover, due to failing legacy systems, Crew Clothing didn’t have a consolidated or single view of their stock. For many retailers, this can lead to multiple issues, often resulting in highly frustrated customers. As part of Crew’s three year strategy to enable efficient omnichannel retailing, the brand needed a platform to become their single repository of stock information.

The Solution

Origin

Crew Clothing needed a rapid deployment of Origin to address a John Lewis integration requirement and be the first key component of their strategic roadmap. Working with the Head of IT, a plan was quickly determined and the following objectives set out:

  • Rapidly adopt new channels to market.
  • Manage complex data mapping.
  • Manage all product data tasks and assets.

Following the implementation of Origin, Crew Clothing saw the following results:

  • Product Creation 50% faster.
  • New channel partner implementations 60% faster.
  • Channel partner product feeds 30% faster.

Archean

Having already built a strong partnership with Retail247, Crew Clothing chose to build on this existing foundation and select Archean as their stock engine. Crew Clothing’s end goal was to have visibility of stock at all times and fulfil their customer promise. Therefore, the following objectives were set out:

  • Have Archean as the single point of reference for all stock information.
  • Have a cross-channel visibility of real-time stock information.
  • Simplify the operation of their stock pool management.

Following the implementation of Archean, Crew Clothing saw the following results:

  • Saves DC space and improves pick efficiency.
  • 20 million+ stock records processed to date.
  • 1 million stock positions maintained.
